No sound at all from Laptop

Hello,



For some reason I cant hear any sound on my laptop. Not through Media Player, Webradio etc....Not even when using Headphones. When looking at the device manager the IDT High Definition CODEC is working properly but when trying to play the test to it says that it failed to play the tone. Its a HP with Windows Vista Home Premium Build 6002 Service Pack 2. I dont know what happenend but any help is greatly appreciated.
