I am buying a media player that supports external hard drives, but it only supports fat16 and fat 32 only. I have a 1tb WD My Book Essential but I dont know weather it has fat 16 or fat 32. I dont want to buy the media player encase it my hard drive is not one of these Fats. Dose anyone know the Fat of this type of hard drive or how to find out?

Hi there,

You will have to create a partition on it of about 20 Gb maximum as Fat and rest as Ntfs,as player will be detected worth Fat only and on pc /laptop the whole. You are using a hard disk player?else purchase a hard drive with less size if available.
