Internet connection

Hello,
I have a serious problem. Changed hard drive on my laptop. Since then had to re-install driver for my wireless. It picks up and connects to the internet just fine but I can't open any web pages. It keeps telling me it is unable to do so. I know it is connected because it allows my anti-virus and windows to update - i watched it downloads the necessary files but still no luck opening a web page. I selected the option to obtain an IP address automatically and the LAN settings are also on "automatic detect". Someone please help me.

Try turning off your Firewall (check your program to make sure you get any/all firewalls you have, not just the windows firewall.)
Then turn off your Antivirus completely.
Then try to access google or something.
