Internet connection problem

hi there I recently had a virus (security tool) which I managed to remove completely but ever since then I haven't been able to connect to the internet, but i have an internet connection established, my browers wont connect to the internet . I have literally everything from checking my LAN settings to reseting IE but Nothing works, I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me

well how about just wiping your hard drive. And start back from the beginning if u got your info saved on a disc but be careful on what it is that you do save .well thats just mee when ever my notebook starts slowing down or acting weird best thing for me is wipe and re-install.!!

thanks for that, but i don't think wiping my hard drive is an option seeing as I'm not very computer savvy so I don't think I'd know how to go about trying to wipe my hard rive?
