Hello,

I have a laptop running Vista that I cannot connect to internet.

I can ping internet sites successsfully but when loading either IE or Firefox it wont load the pages.

I have tried this on two different wireless networks, both work with other machines.

Can anyone offer any advice - I'm going mad!!!

Thanks

Hello,

Try this 1.

Internet Explorer :

Right click on the "Internet Explorer" icon---->Click on "Properties"---> Click on

"Connections" tab-->Click on LAN settings button. In that window uncheck all the

options, if you notice any option selected.

Firefox :

In Firefox, Click on Tools-->Options--->Advanced --> Network--->Settings--->

select "No proxy" option and click on OK.

Good Luck.
Hi, tried all of the above but hasn't made any difference :(

Hello,
Try this 1
Click on start---->Run--->type cmd---->click on OK----> command prompt will be opened ----> then type this command

netsh winsock reset and then click on Enter

Restart your PC
I tried that earlier but no luck. Thanks anyway.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

Hello,
Check your antivirus settings. Temporary disable your antivirus and check whether you are
able to browse or not.

Hello,
Right click on internet explorer icon --> properties --> click on advanced tab --> click on reset .
Now try to open any site in IE. If the problem still exists restart your router.
