My ipod wont work help

Hi my name is bryan i have a problem with my ipod touch version 3.1.3 i tryed to restore it acouple days ago and it just shows a small apple in the middle and another small loading ring under it ive tried everything it just wont work it turns off but when i turn it on it shows the same thing i left it alone for 1 day and its still like this pleas help....
