sony vaio startup problem Closed

Hello, 

I'm having trouble turning on my sony vaio. I've had this problem before and the computer tech didn't know what was wrong and just returned it to manufacturer but I don't want to have to do this.
I get a message about new software downloads being incomplete and the options launch startup repair or start windows normally. If I start normally it takes me right back to this screen and if I push launch startup it reezes on a black screen.
Any tips would be much appreciated.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.12

This sounds like either a damaged hard drive or a damaged Window file.  You might try the "repair" function in Vista.  This requires you have a Vista boot-able DVD. Or you have made or can download a Vista "repair disk".  I suggest you Google "vista repair" for more info.
