Hello Tray,
No matter what you will definitely have to get the iPod reset in order to get it working back properly. Yet, I wonder whether you have confirmed whether the power button is really damaged. If it is really so, you will be compelled to send it to an Apple store for them to get it fixed. If ever you still have warranty upon it, do not miss to profit of it.
Otherwise, if the power button is not damaged for sure, it might be that the iPod battery is empty. In such a case. connect a power adapter to it and the plug it to the electrical outlet. You could also get it connected to a PC.
It will then be time to reset it and confirm that the power button is really damaged before making your mind to send it to the store.
Good luck folk.
