Wireless connection good no internet connect

Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 9300-53177 that will connect to the wireless router with a strong signal yet it won't connect to the internet. A Mac laptop sitting next to my Acer connects and has no problem. My Acer says searching for IP address but can't find it. Firewall blocked. I have turned off the windows firewall but still doesn't connect to the internet. Checked File work off line option and it is not checked.

Any suggestions.

Are you using a router? If so, then go into the router configuration and refresh your clients. Sometimes, the MAC address and IP will hang. I just fixed this same problem with my wife's system this past weekend. I was able to connect to the router, but couldn't get the internet connection to work, until I check and saw that the MAC address was hung in the router

try to change your acer to static ip of the range from the ap. example: the ap had a 192.168.1.1 range give your acer 192.168.1.5.
