Let us know if there is any error message that is being displayed when trying to install the audio driver. Also

when i extract the sound driver..it doesn't initialize to install automatically. When i manually install the extracted driver it displays an error showing
Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the Media device for this driver
and my laptop model is shown only as Toshiba Satellite L640

Click on the below link and download the file
https://download.cnet.com/s/kb888111xpsp2-exe/
Install it --> Restart your laptop --> Then try installing your audio drivers.
If the problem still exists, install the chipset drivers and then audio drivers.

sorry..now also the problem remains
i installed the kb888111xpsp2.exe file, but it doesn't make any changes to my system..i then install the intel chipset driver(SL640_L645_XP_Intel_Chipset_SW_Installation_Utility_9.1.1.1024) and ten my sound drivers..but i can't able to install that..
the sound drivers i tried to install are
:SL640_L645_XP_ATI_HDMI_Audio_Driver_5.18.0.5500
:SL640_L645_XP_Conexant_Audio_Driver_3.79.0.53
i installed the kb888111xpsp2.exe file, but it doesn't make any changes to my system..i then install the intel chipset driver(SL640_L645_XP_Intel_Chipset_SW_Installation_Utility_9.1.1.1024) and ten my sound drivers..but i can't able to install that..
