Hello,

Running windows xp sp3 on a dell dimension 2400. Needed to replace my 37 mb drive with a WD internal 500gb. Used norton ghost to copy the drive. My 500 gb drive only shows the size of the original 37Gb disk. It reflects ntsf. What did I do worng?

Thanks

many copy utilities make an exact copy. Hence they do not change the size of the drive. The Western digital software has the option to expand the partition.
You will need to download a utility to expand the Partition to its full size. Google "EASEUS" they make a free partition management program that should work for XP.

Good Luck

I can expand the partition without losing the 30 plus gb of data?

easeus was so easy. The partition was done in minutes. Thank you for some great advise.
