Having problems accessing windows vista

Hello,
my name is jane and im having problems trying to get my friends laptop working every time i turn it on its comming up with system is not found tried repeting by pressing the f8 button to see if it works but no joy can u help pease thanks

Greetings,

Go to the BIOS --> Make sure hard disk is detected in the BIOS -- > Set your first boot device as "Hard disk" --> Save the settings and exit from the BIOS.
