Hello,

I'm using HP laptop and having a problem with getting my laptop connect to the internet through network cable. My laptop can connect well in through Wireless but not Network cable. Why ?

p/s: My friends can connect well, so I'm sure this is something to do with the laptop n not the router..

Help me please...

go to start > control panel > network and sharing center > manage adapter settings

Do you see Local Area Connection in there?

If no, reinstall LAN drivers from HP website (they have an autodetect function its easy)

If yes, right click on it and go to properties > TCP/IP and ensure settings are set to automatic and click OK)

Okay,

with the ethernet cable plugged in (turn off WLAN)

go to start > run > type cmd and press OK

type ipconfig and let me know what your IP, subnet, gateway, DNS is please.

also, try to ping www.google.com with command ping www.google.com
