Hello, 

I have a HP computer that runs on windows xp professional.  It's about a 2003 laptop and yes, it is pretty old.  I haven't used it in awhile since I purchased my desktop.   It's been sitting in storage.  I've updated it to be best of my ability and thought it would be okay.  Once I did this, it was working just fine and all of a sudden, it just stopped booting up.  It will come on and just go to the windows xp page.  I'm new to laptops and I noticed that the fan at the bottom isn't running, could this also be a problem?  Please help me?

If the fan is not runningthen yes its a problem.
If you tap f8 can you go into boot options (Safe mode)
