My compaq mini laptop sound has ceased workin

Hello, my hp compaq mini laptop sound just stopped working all of a sudden in the middle of a song. i dont know what to do. pls help, am really scared. plus additional info, i just changed my o.s from xp to windows 7. does it have anythin 2 do with it

Hello,

Try this 1

Click on Start --> Run --> Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. "Device Manager"

will be opened. Is there any yellow mark? Let me know your laptop model

number also.

sir, i did what u said but it said troubleshooter couldn't find the problem. the sound isnt still workin. thanks for ur help sir.

hello, thanks 4 d quick response. there was no yellow mark there. and my laptop model number is 311c-1020SA. thanks again

Hello,
Try this 1
Click on Start --> Control Panel --> Under "System and Security", click on "Find and fix problems"
---> Under "Hardware and Sound", click on "Troubleshoot audio playback" and follow the instructions.

thanks sir but the msg was dat d troubleshooter couldnt detect any problem. d situation is still d same. dont know wat else to do.

Try this 1
Try reinstalling the drivers
Click on the below link and download the chipset and the audio drivers

First install the chipset drivers and then audio drivers.
