No audio output device is installed

Hello,
im losing all hope... i have vista and it used to work fine and lately it has a red "x" on my volume icon and says "no audio output device is installed" ... HELP ME PLEASE... ive looked all over the internet, and i would try some solutions except i have these problems: i dont have "sound,video, and game controllers" as an option in the device manager...and i dont have "sound" as an option... please help me! i love music!

Hello,

Try this 1

Go to your manufacture's website, download the chipset & audio driver.

Install the chipset driver first and then the audio driver.

OR

Click on the below link and download the file.

https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/4993-cpu-z/

Extract it --> Double-click on CPUZ --> Click on "Mainboard" tab.

Let us know the Manufacturer , Model with rev number, Chipset &

Southbridge.Click on the "CPU" tab and let me know the "Package"

Let me know your "Operating System" also.

I have exactly the same problem like this guy above, i'll give you my information. MANUFACTURER= QUANTA, MODEL= 30EA, there is a number next to this, i don't know if is the rev number 86.09, i found the rev number is A2, CHIPSET=NVIDEA nForce 560, SOUTHBRIDGE= NVIDEA nForce 560. CPU PACKAGE= socket S1( 638 ) Windows Vista home premium 32- bit operating system

i downloaded the file but now i can not open it. I do not know how to open a win zip file i extracted it like says there but i can't install it

Rev= A2
