Internet connection

Hello,
l have recently been having problems with my internet connection, the only thing that has changed is my phone number. l have changed to a cheaper deal with BT and have to put 9 before dialling out. do l need to change my number with my IP

Are you using dial up internet? I would definitely recommend getting cable or DSL
