My external disk 1TB doesn't show in my computer.

I have a Toshiba 1Tb external. it was working fine until yesterday. i plugged it in, the laptop recognized that an external USB 3 was connected but it doesn't show in my computer. i can safety remove it, i can see it in device manager, i cant see it in disk management, i updated its drivers and i tried it on another laptop and its not working.
please help

After plugging in the device, go to device manager (In run type "devmgmt.msc") In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected to your PC. Right click and then click "Uninstall. Remove the USB drive and restart your system.
Try connecting the device again. I think this should solve the problem.
