Hang in there, just some simple questions.
So when did it quit? What Operating System?
Go to start--run--cmd---ipconfig /all
write down the gateway info......
ping the gateway address...so what this means is..
You may have to scroll up for the correct information.
You will see something like.....
DHCP ENABLED......................................................: YES
IP ADDRESS...........................................................:192.168.10.200
SUBNET MASK........................................................:255.255.255.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY................................................:192.168.10.1
So, write down the default gateway address.
Now, in the same cmd window (dos prompt), type in:
Ping 192.168.10.1 ( i am using these numbers because in the example....you use yours)
Do you get a response from the gateway?
A response will look like this:
Pinging 192.168.10.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.10: bytes=32 time > 1.E546 TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.10: bytes=32 time > 1.E546 TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.10: bytes=32 time > 1.E546 TTL=64
if you get the above, then post back.
If you get the below, it has failed to get to the gateway:
Request Timed out.
Request Timed out.
Request Timed out.
Post back if you get this also.
