Gateway laptop screen is black

I was using my laptop and just close the screen when I was done.
1 hour later I open it and the screen is black.
Nothing appear on the screen and no button light up except the blue power button
The battery is charge and light up if I plug it in
The only thing happening is the fan run nonstop.
Even if I close the screen, the fan will never stop until I open it again and
I push the power button until it shut off.
