I downloaded a free antivirus software "avast". When the antivirus software was scanning, it identified some possible viruses, and I opted to delete those files. Now my Internet doesn't work, and I have a suspicion that some of the files that I deleted were necessary for my Internet connection.
I have the wireless router and the modem and my computer and my wife's computer of both connected to the network. My wife's Internet works and mine does not.
I have windows seven.
I have tried restoring the system files. I also downloaded the driver files from the HP website but still didn't work.
Please help
Thank you

Hello,
can you please click start > control Panel
change to classic view (top right)
Go in to network and sharing centre
on the right, click Advanced adapter settings
In there, do you see "Local Area Connection" or your wireless adapter?
Can you tell us if you're using wired or wireless connection?
What is the status of your connection? Do you have a yellow triangle in the icon?
Can you open up internet explorer and go to tools > Internet options > Advanced tab > Restore default settings & Reset.
