-Cannot connect to any domains or 192.168.1.1
-Driver software is up to date
-No other applications are getting internet
-Chrome, firefox, and IE all do not work
-Error message on chrome is "This webpage is not available" after around 10 seconds
-Tried the stock answers, i.e. ipconfig release/renew, ipconfig/flushdns, ipconfig/renew, something involving a sub interface and changing whatever mtu is in a elevated command prompt
-Running windows 7 SP1 on a gateway laptop
-All other devices in the house are working
-Network adapter is an Atheros AR5B95
Would appreciate any help

Ok, slow down....
What are expecting when you connect to 192.168.1.1?
Your network may be operating correctly. What is your IP address?

Ok, so reset your IP address with the following cmd:
IPCONFIG /release
IPCONFIG /renew
Now, tell us what your ip address is. If it says you cannot release a static IP, then that is the problem. If it comes back and gives you an IP address that is not within 192.x.x.x, then you are not receiving HEADER information from DHCP server (router).

I am expecting to connect to my router configuration homepage when I type in 192.168.1.1 (Like I can do on my other PCs in the same network) but I was just using that as an example of how the network connection is not working on that computer.

So, with all of that being said. Your network is working as it should.
