I just got a new to me Toshiba laptop trying to reset it to factory settings. now I get no bootable device - insert boot disk. I have no boot disk. I have tried f8 and f1 and they do nothing I also have tried pressing 0 and then the start button while holding 0 and come up with the message the hard drive recovery process has been selected. Please choose yes if you are sure you want to continue. when I hit yes I get a white screen with several dots all across the page. similar to this.

sounds like you need to replace the hard disk.
