No signal displayed when computers turned on

Hello,
my computer has not been workin for ages now every time i turn it on the moniter just says (no signal) with a black backround then it gose into standby and then thats its. iv taken the cables out and moved it to differnt plug sockets i dont know what else i can do pls give me some help.

"DIFFERENT PLUG SOCKETS" ? You have a dead computer - hence, no signal to the monitor. Do you have lights from the computer and or Windows welcoming sound ?

Lights and sounds come from the computer to start up but then nothin on monitor. We have tried changing plug sockets but it's still doin the exact same thing. Thanx for replyin though.
