what about disk management?
Right click on computer icon on desktop--> manage-->disk management,

Hi frzferoz,
Did you use a specific tool to set the hard drive's password. If the drive is visible in BIOS and in Device Manager, there is a chance that the drive is working normally. Most probably, the issue is with the password. Since you have valuable data on the drive, try using a Linux Live CD in order to access your files. If you manage to back it up, I recommend you to format the hard drive, using the Diskpart command from the Command Prompt. I leave you more details below:

its not visible in disk management too.

i have gone through the process given by you.And the hdd is visible in the BIOS option.
sorry for my late mentioning sir...my hdd is secured with a password and its not asking any popup to open it by entering password.a popup should be shown but its not showing now.
pls help me in opening without loss of data.
