Dell d610 willl not power up

Hello,
I have a dell d610 latitude laptop. When I put in a charged battery it works until the battery need recharging. When I plug in my ac adapter and take out the battery it does not run. I know it is not the battery or the charger. This may be a connection problem. Is this fixable?

you should not take out the battery when the chager is connected.
this may damage your screen.
check if you can charge the battery when you plug the charger.
