Problem getting my laptop to load

My hp pavillion turns on but all it does is show the circle like it is loading , does not do anything else. I have unplugged and taken the battery out and also held the power button down and still is just showing the circle going around and around

Hello btjjcrev,

What operating system do you use on your laptop? If it's Windows I would recommend you to use a repair CD if you have one. If you don't, then it would be better to start up your laptop in Safe mode. Then open the Command prompt and type the following command:
sfc /scannow
Once you have done this, please come here and share the results.
