I downloaded the free upgrade to Windows 10 but I have now got no start menu when I click on the Windows Start button in the bottom l/h of my screen. So I can't find 'Settings'. I believe I need that to get rid of Windows 10.

I also don't have a calendar when I click on the date in the bottom right hand corner. This is essential to me. So I cannot use Windows 10.

I went into System and found Security where it said restore Windows 7, but after I did a system back up, there was nothing that told me how to revert to Windows 7.

This has so far taken me all of my Sunday to resolve. It seems like Windows are conspiring to make me keep Windows 10. It's awful.

Hello

I suggest that your best bet is to restore to factory settings. Unfortunately all of your data will be lost but it's better than a dead computer.

Good luck

There are lots of suggestions online if you google 'start menu missing from Windows 10' or 'calendar missing from windows 10'.

I followed the poster Liam Hughes' suggestion down the page here.... http://forums.windowscentral.com/ask-question/372178-start-menu-not-working-windows-10-after-upgrading.html

I have Avast installed as my antivirus.
When I followed the instructions, then restarted my computer, my start menu appeared, and a calendar appeared in the bottom r/h side of the screen.

Everything seems to be ok now, but why can't Microsoft get these things sorted beforehand? Seems like so many people have the same problem.

It's just occurred to me that I might have an even bigger problem. When I went into Security, it said restore 'Windows 8'. Problem is I have never had Windows 8; only Windows 7.

What can I do to get rid of Windows 10? I can't find System Restore, I can't find anything for that matter. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Hi shack91 - I am having the same sort of issues with Windows 10 that was installed 21-Aug-2015. I want to delete W10 & reinstate my previous W7 system but the option has been removed from my control panel. Very annoyed with myself for allowing Microsoft experts
to dictate my options
