Dell Laptop not starting

My dell inspiron laptop is not starting up for few days after shutting down. I tried like removing battery and adapter and press the power button for 15-20 sec and again place the battery and connecting the adapter and the press the power button again but it does not work. please help me to solve the problem.

Without inserting battery in connect your laptop with direct power adapter and switch on the laptop and see whether it is working!

I tried that also but it did not work.

what about without power adapter and connect the battery only? If you have any other spare power adapter try it.

No, power adapter is working fine coz if the adapter is on battery charging is shown in the laptop. I tried all the way that is with battery and without battery with only adapter but it did not work.

I think its a problem of Adapter try it with another adapter once

If the problem is with the adapter then it should start on with the only battery...but not.

It means did you try it(adapter) with another laptop? and it is working?
Then you have to contact a technician to repair your laptop. May be there is a problem in motherboard itself. did you try to reseat the cmos battery?
