Laptop won't turn on.

Hi everyone. I recently plugged my laptop with another charger and it went off and didn't turn on again. 10 sec before my laptop was ok. I tried again with my charger but nothing. I tried removing the battery and press the button for 30sec - 2min nothing again. When i plugg in my charger a spark appears(never happened before). The person who had the other charger told me that his laptop didnt turn on either and when he went at the pc service they told him that the motherboard was dead... Any idea what might be the problem? If the problem is the motherboard, does it worth it to change it? Thank you!
