Hi Madhu,
Please confirm that the pendrive has no lock button. It can be really small and is easily missed. If there is such button, make sure the drive is unlocked. Connect the device and open Command Prompt. Type:
Diskpart
List Disk
Select Disk n (n must be the pendrive’s number)
Clean
Go to Disk Management and try to format the pendrive. It would be nice to try formatting while in Safe Mode too.

There may be some useful suggestions. If none of those help you, I would recommend you to replace the drive. Sudden write protection problems may reappear in future, affecting all stored in the drive. Have you tried the drive on another PC?
