Dell Inspiron spontaneously powers off

My Dell Inspiron 5040N Laptop will shutdown without being prompted too.

What are the top reasons this could happen?

It seems the caps lock key when on, may be causing the shut downs. If the caps lock is deactivated in the keyboard mapping menu, will it cause any additional issues?

did you run the Dell hardware diagnostics. It's F12 when when you see the Dell logo.
