Need to hold down the FN key to use regular keys

Hello,

After my latest Windows 10 update on my Toshiba Satellite, my function key has malfunctioned. I now need to hold down the FN key to use regular keys that also have a FN function,like space & 1,2,3,4. But then, none of the special F1-9 functions (like brightness control) work. Is there anything I can do other than wait for the next update and hope it gets fixed?
