Connected but not working

I have win 7 and I connected to my WiFi modem via a cable. And when its connected, my computer says I have internet access but when I open a browser and try to access the internet it says it has a problem with a proxy. Is it because I was hacked by someone yesterday? Or something else? Please tell me.

do you normally use a proxy?

If not, then you need to use Internet Explorer to delete the proxy setting. The exact method depends on version of Explorer you are using. You can first try the "Settings" button.
