How to reset or change your Discord password
Have you forgotten your Discord password? Don't worry, it's pretty simple to reset it via your computer or mobile device. Read this article to find out how to do it. There is also an instruction on how to change your password if you are afraid that it might have been compromised.
How to reset your Discord password
On your computer
- If you've forgotten your Discord password, there is a way to reset it. Launch the Discord app or go to Discord for the web and on the login screen, type your email or phone number linked to your account and click Forgot Your Password below.
- Discord will send you an email with instructions about how to change your password.
- Open the email from Discord and click the Reset Password link.
- In the new window, type your new password in the corresponding field and click Change password to save the changes.
On mobile device
- Launch the app and tap Login.
- Type your email or phone number linked to your account and click Forgot Your Password.
- From the Discord's email, follow the Reset Password link.
- In the new window, write your new password and tap Change password.
How to change your Discord password
On your computer
- Launch the Discord app and navigate to Settings (cog icon at the bottom).
- Go to My Account and in the Password and Authentication section, select Change password.
- In the new windows, type your current password, your new password, and one more time your new password to confirm it.
- Finally, click Done, and your password will be changed.
On mobile device
- In your Discord app, tap on your profile icon and go to My Account > Change Password.
- In the new window, type your old and your new password.
- Tap the Save button and it's done!
