Power button not working on Compaq laptop

Hi,

I'm using a hp compaq CQ 43 laptop.
My power button is not working.It was working earlier today but I had to press it for a few seconds.I removed the battery and connected with power adapter,waited two minutes and pushed the button.it doesn't work.I did the same again after holding the button for 2 minutes to drain any power.still not working.the battery and power supply is just fine.I tried with another battery.NOT WORKING.....

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.
