External USB drive trouble

Hello,
I have a Serial ATA (USB 2.0) hard drive. I have a lot of info I need off of it and now my computer says "found new hardware do you want to install (code 28)" I click on yes it does its thing but still does not install it says "hardware could nit be installed because wizard could not find the sofware". Is there a way I can get the info off or start using the USB again. I have tried some ways to install but still does not work I have even uninstalled the software

hi,

go to the official website of the HDD's company and then download the driver.

install it and then connect the HDD to the computer.

now it should be recognised.
