INCORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS ASSOCIATED WITH MY ACCOUNT HAS LOCKED ME OUT OF ACCESS Closed

My old girlfriend made my instagram for me about 10 yrs ago. her email was linked to my account. i changed my password last year and cant remember what I changed it to. i never had to worry about it because it was always logged into my phone. until my car got broken into and my phone was stolen. now i had to get a new phone and cant log into my instagram and when I try to report my account, instagram help center just takes me in circles i have been trying for weeks. IG says to prove identity they'll send a code and i have to take picture of my face with code they sent. I cant get to that part of the process. account is mine it is filled with pictures of me and my son. some of which i still have on my icloud. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello, I found this info from the Instagram Help Page.

If you've lost access to the email or phone number you used to sign up for Instagram, you can either try to regain access to the email or phone number or you can update your profile with new account information.

Unfortunately, if you can't access the email account you registered with and didn't link your Instagram and Facebook accounts, we're unable to give you access to the account.

If you can no longer access the email address used to create the account, and can't access the code that they send you to reset your password so you can log into to Instagram and then change the attached email... there isn't anything that can be done.
