The disk is write protected

While going into the path recommended by you to clear the usb write protected error I found that there is no "storage device policy " in it at all. What is the solution to that?

Hi Naresh,

If the StorageDevicePolicies is non-existing, you can manually create it by right clicking and selecting New -> Key.

In the right-window on the right, double-click on WriteProtect and set the value to 0. In case WriteProtect doesn't exist, you do a right-click again and select New -Dword. Give it the name WriteProtect and set it's value to 0.
