Connected but no internet

Hello,
I have tried all the advice. My laptop says- network cable unplugged- checked everything. What do I do now? Thanks for any help.

Hello,

If you are using a modem or a router you will have to check if the cable is functioning! I will advise you to replace to a new one!

Thank you. I am computer illiterate so please bear with me. I have the cable from the router going into the back of my working pc and the light below it is red. Would that be an indication that the cable is not working properly? Shouldn't the light be green?

Also, in order to have the laptop to connect to the internet, does the message-a network cable is unplugged- have anything to do with connecting or being able to access the internet. I am connected with excellent strength. Sorry, i just do not understand
