Hello,

I just bought the Gateway 15.6" Ultra Slim Notebook on 12/12/21.

The touchpad does not accept my touch or hard click often. For example, I try to click a button on a website, and sometimes it does not work.

Has anyone else had this issue? I got two of the same computer and have the same issue on both, so it seems it's a hardware issue.

I also don't have a way to right-click the touchpad. I left-click the touchpad to get the right-click functionality. That's a really weird design flow, IMHO.

Would love to know if anyone else ran into the same problem and can it be fixed.

System Configuration: Windows / Chrome 96.0.4664.93

Hi,

This could also be a software issue. You can start by uninstalling the old touchpad driver and downloading the latest available from the Gateway support site.

I recommend also that you check your touchpad settings. I assume that you've Windows 10 - go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad. Check also the Additional settings and Gesture settings, a misconfiguration can also be responsible to a malfunction with your touchpad.

If you still have the issue, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Select Hardware and Devices, then the tool will scan your laptop to find if there's any issue with your hardware.

Good luck
