I'm trying to install Avira antivirus, but it does not work. It says that there is an error in installing the program. It says that:
A secure internet connection is required to activate the product(SSL encrypted). This could not be established. please address the following issues and repeat the product activation.
-ensure that the internet can be accessed
-ensure that the system date is correct
-if in use, check your modem connection
-ensure that the application fact.exe can access the internet and is not blocked by a firewall
It seems that there's really nothing wrong with my internet connections and still I can't install Avira antivirus. Guys, do you have any idea about what should be done in this case?
Need help!

Hey,
I too had the same message and was about to give up. However, I gave a final shot by doing a small thing.
I just unclicked the box that was asking me whether I wanted to register Avira. It started the installation.
Guess, I am an unregistered user!

I think I may be the badly infected system Ambucias is talking about. I get the same message as ladadada when trying to install the purchased version of Avira. I have the full version of Malwarebytes though, so I'm not sure how I got so badly infected. Anyway, I sent the log file from Hijack to Ambucias yesterday, so any help with this installation, or the removal of my PC infections will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all!
Thank you all!

Sound Machine,
Here is your log and my response:
Hi,
I read a post where someone was having trouble with the license wizard accessing ssl internet during an install of avira premium. I'm having the same problem and have tried everything I know. You mentioned using hijack to generate a log file and you migh be able to figure out the problem. I've included mine and hope you can help.
Thanks,
Jason

REPONSE TO HYJACKTHIS LOG:
First of all I really wonder why you installed Avira on your "D" drive rather than your main drive "C". That is conflict creating.
D:\avira_antivir_premium_en.exe
Your machine is also infected, if I were you, I would run a Hyjackthis log, check the following item then click fix checked:
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

Then, update your Malwarebyte and run a FULL, I insist FULL system scan.
I will give you a dime to a doughnut that your system got infected from Limewire.
We may have to deal later with Avira on the D drive.
Here is your log and my response:

REPONSE TO HYJACKTHIS LOG:
First of all I really wonder why you installed Avira on your "D" drive rather than your main drive "C". That is conflict creating.
D:\avira_antivir_premium_en.exe
Your machine is also infected, if I were you, I would run a Hyjackthis log, check the following item then click fix checked:
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =

Then, update your Malwarebyte and run a FULL, I insist FULL system scan.
I will give you a dime to a doughnut that your system got infected from Limewire.
We may have to deal later with Avira on the D drive.

Hi Ambucias,
Thank you for the response. I'm sort of a newbie at all this, that's why I didn't see it. However, I'll do as you say as well as get rid of Limewire (I don't use it often anyway). Thank you so much once again.

I got in touch with somebody at Avira and what you have to do is send an email to avre@avira.com and request and HBEDV.KEY file. You need to include the following in your e-mail:
First and Last Name
E-Mail Address
Activation code
Explain the error you were having
Request an HBEDV.KEY
I did this, and they sent me the file about 5 minutes later and I was able to install Avira trouble free after this. It's been working fine ever since.
Hope this helps and thank you to all (especially Ambucias) for all your help!

I am impressed with Avira! Does not leave much to say for Symantec's Norton.
Thank you for the feedback.

Hello,
I can tell you why but I must absolutely know what is on your system that is preventing the installation.
Usually the issue is easily resolved.
Please download and install Hyjackthis. From the main menu, request a scan and save a log. Copy the log and paste it here.
As soon as I have analysed the log, I shall be able to guide in the installation of Avira.
You may download from here:

@Carol
At first glance, your system is badly infected by several viruses. To help you, I must know their nature and their exact locations.
To help you and prescribe the remedy, I must make a diagnostic and to do so, I require a system log.
1. Open this link and download ZHPDiag2 :
https://www.zebulon.fr/telechargements/securite/systeme/zhpdiag.html
(Don't be alarmed is the site is in French, it sometimes happens, the tool will take your system language and allow the download if you get a warning message. Once installed, click on the "hardhat" icon, it allows to change the language.)
2. Save the file on your Desktop.
3. Double click on ZHPDiag.exe and follow the installation instructions.
the tool creates three icons ZHPDiag, MRB, and ZHPFix (If necessary,we will use ZHPFix at the next step).
4. Double click on the short cut ZHPDiag on your Destktop.
5. Click on the screwdriver icon and ensure all of the items are checked.
6. Click on the Magnifying glass and run the analysys.
Wait for the tool to finished (maybe a long time)
7. Close ZHPDiag.
8. To transmit the report, click on this link :
https://authentification.site
9. Click on Parcourir and search the directory where you installed ZHPDiag (usually C:\desktop\zhpdiag.txt).
10. Select the file ZHPDiag.txt.
11. Click on "upload ยป
12. Copy the url and post it here.
Best regards

Hi
Your system is badly infected by a trojan horse, adware and spyware, as a matter of a fact, a system to badly infested with malware is rarely seen. All of this malware originated from the cracked software and keygenerators which you have downloaded from Bareshare and other similar sites, for example : C:\Program Files\AllGamesHome.com, C:\Program Files\GameTop.com, your file downloader, faceless internet connection, etc. You are presently being spyied on and your system is vulnerable to hyjackers.
If your system is not soon desinfected, I predict a total failure in a very near future which will require a total factory reset.
Having said this, as Moderator and Security Contributor, to uphold our Charter, before I can help you, you must first agree to remove and delete all of the software for which you have not purchased a license that is cracked software (freeware excluded) as well as all the tools used to crack.
If you agree, please delete the illegal software, delete the previous ZHP Log, reboot your machine, generate a new log and upload it on Speedyshare.
Best regards

@Carol,
You are welcome but I could have helped you to clean the machine. Formating your system will erase all of your data.
