Hi,
Okay i have a 250gig PS3 but have dial-up internet (please no dumb comments) I have an ethernet cable also so i tried plugging the ethernet from my PS3 to my computer but it keeps saying the connection failed because it Timed out while it was searching for an IP address . Does that mean i need an ethernet to USB adapter cause i heard from some dude at radio shack that i might. But i want to know before i waste my money on one so PLEASE HELP

first off... please don't

secondly, to connect the ps3 to your computer you need a 'crossover' ethernet cable. It's a special cable where the inside wiring is crossed, so that both are not trying to talk on the same wires.

after that you'd have to setup a network bridge on your computer. It'd actually be pretty annoying to setup a netowrk bridge between you modem and network card..

Goodluck =)
