sister's toshiba turns on but then blank Closed

Hello, 

        My sister's Toshiba laptop(windows XP *vista compatible*) turns on but after the "In Touch With Tomorrow Toshiba" sign, its gives us a blank screen... taking a closer look at the monitor, yes... the monitor lights up, but is black/blank...help :(



Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 8.0
