Problem with external hard drive

Hello,

i have a problem. when i plug in my usb powered 80gig transcend hard drive it does not appear in My computer even though the usb icon in the task bar tray at the bottom right of screen does show indications that a hard drive has been plugged in. once plugged in the hard drive is running but it doesnt appear in My Computer. Any suggestions anyone?

Dear Slimy,

The problem should be coming from its USB port and hence you should check out by connecting it to another USB port. Also consider getting to the Device Manager and have the drive updated.
