External Hard drive stopped working.

Hello,

Okay, I have a WD3200 and it just decided that it hated me yesterday. I would not be recognized by any computer. I have tried everything. It is in RAW format (not of my doing), It cannot be opened with out it wanting to format it (that is not an option.)


What happens in My Computer, when you click on it it either freezes, or pulls up a box, as if it is going to open, but that freezes then pulls up a error saying I:\ needs to be formatted. (That is new, before it was saying Parameters are Incorrect). I have tried all the recovery agents I could find, but because it is in RAW format they will not do anything.

I need the files off of there for my school. Any help would be amazing.

EDIT: I have got the Properties open, if that helps, but nothing can really be done, it just freezes.

I have just tried Snapshot, and it froze it, just along with all the other programs.
It just freezes them, they shut down.

I have also tried the chkdsk but it says that

"Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges.
You have to invoke this utility running in an elevated mode."
