Ipod touch won't let me go on it.

hi i have an ipod touch 3rd generation and i havent had any problems with it since i got it about 4 months ago. but today i unplugged it from charging on my computer and it showed a little icon that says plug into itunes. it wont let me go on my ipod or listen to music or anything, it turns on and off and when i plug it back in the computer it doesnt do anything. i tried clicking on itunes and it wouldnt let me please help!

have you tried turning it on & off ? if that doesnt work , you could just restore it ..

try to download i tunes and format it

i turned it on and off and all that it didnt work and the music and games it has on it now are from my friends comp. not mine should i try to goon itunes on her comp.?
