Compaq presario cq60 help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
ok so i have a problem i had this laptop for like 8 months and it worked fine but now when i plug in the power cord it shuts off the laptop. the laptop runs fine with just the battery but the battery has only 1% life left and when i try to charge it it turns off my laptop PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU oh ya i already got a new power cord but it still doesn't work

Hello,
If you bought a new power adapter then make sure that you have the correct
output voltage. Its also possible if the output voltage is not correct as required
by the laptop and its shutting down to prevent any damage. If the problem
still exists even after having the right and the correct power adapter then the
problem may be with the motherboard or its getting short-circuited when you are
connecting the power adapter. Its better if you take to your nearest service
center. They will check and let you know if the problem can be fixed by doing a
small repair on your motherboard or you have to buy a new motherboard.
