Gateway will not come on, help!

Hello,
Laptop was on and indicated the battery was losing power and to switch power source. When I attempted to do this it shutdown. It made several attempts to reboot but would shutdown. Now, not even restarts, just black. No fan or lights. Earlier posts recommend removing the battery. Where can I find the battery? All information is appreciated. Thanks.
