Can't connect the internet

I am using a dell latitude c600(OS - windows 2000) my problem is that I cannot access the internet using my smart broadband, my network connection is fine and my firewall does not block the website i am trying to access, i also tried to use DNS server but still does not work. Can you help me please?!
